Amy Ahrens completed a circle of sorts when she joined Halligan LLC as a paralegal in 2022.
Amy is a Colorado native. She went to high school with Halligan LLC’s founding partner, Gavin Halligan before going on the Colorado State where she was on the Cheerleading Squad before graduating cum laude and moving onto Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.
She graduated with Dean’s Honors and an Advocacy Certificate, passed the Kansas Bar, opened her own firm and practiced in state and federal courts in Kansas.
That’s right, our paralegal has a law degree. Our paralegal has trial experience, has drafted innumerable contracts, motions, briefs, agreements, and interviewed hundreds of clients.
Opening and running her own law firm effectively cured Amy of wanting to practice law as an attorney. She did, however, miss the ‘fast paced the legal industry’ and, most of all, working with clients.
The thing that Amy loved best about practicing law was taking a client through the minefield that can be the law to the resolution they were looking for. She loved the sense of satisfaction when a client succeeded.
Now she gets to do that full time and she gets to do it for our clients. She gets to employ her empathy every day and see cases to resolution more than she ever could in private practice.
Halligan LLC is thrilled to have her experience and knowledge working for us. We’re even more thrilled to be able to offer it to our clients.
Amy will be the first to tell you she has no free time when she’s not helping our clients – she has two toddlers at home. Amy does have time, however, to run and be a Beachbody Coach. The rest of the time she spends with her husband, Jacques, and the toddlers – Lonnie and Leilah.
